Born and raised in Aurora, Ontario, John is a member of the Canadian National Slalom Kayak Team. John started kayaking at the young age of 6, by 15 he had qualified for a spot on the Canadian Junior slalom team. John realized how much he loved the sport as he traveled to Europe to compete at the Junior World Championships...

John made the move to Ottawa at the young age of 18, where he currently trains with the National Team coach at the National Team training center. John is currently ranked in the top 3 in Canada and top 30 in the World! His most admirable accomplishments thus far are his 2nd place finish at the Canadian National Championships in 2006 and his 3rd place finish at the Pan American Championships in 2005. John graduated from Carleton University’s Sport School of Business and has a Bachelor of Commerce. He aspires to one day own his own business and get into real estate.

Being given the opportunity to represent Canada on the international stage. Also, I've had a few top 10's and a couple of medals at such races along the road.

My dad - his hard work and dedication taught me that in life, if you want something, you will get it...all that is required is a little hard work and grit.
