As a maelstrom of snow descended on the greater Toronto area, a group of 160 students gathered at Zion Heights Junior High School on February 25, 2011 to take part in the Toronto District School Boards’ “Dare to Dream” leadership conference. This year, the conference focused on the theme of turning “Passion into Action” and featured the launch of Motivate Canada’s exciting new youth leadership program the “Esteem Team Wellness Workshop.”

On February 25, 2011 students from eight NE1 Toronto schools will participate in the launch of Motivate Canada’s exciting new youth leadership program the “ESTEEM Team Wellness Workshop.” The launch will take place at Zion Heights Junior High School alongside the Toronto District School Board’s annual Dare to Dream leadership conference.

Like any dedicated athlete, 29-year-old Mike Auksi, a member of the Estonian National Hockey Team knows first-hand the inherent challenges involved in maintaining peak physical and mental readiness. That’s why Auksi, an Aboriginal Role Model for Motivate Canada’s GEN7 Program, has kick-started a rigorous diet and exercise plan to increase his performance at World Hockey Championship in Kiev, Ukraine on April 17, 2011.
